Essence is well known for their affordable and good quality mascaras. I have been using one of their creations for a while and absolutely love it. The I Love Extreme Crazy Volume Mascara has been a staple in my makeup bag. It is the younger sister to the original Essence I Love Extreme Volume Mascara. This time around they added the vibrant pink packaging which allured me to making a purchase. Plus the added 'Crazy' in the name made me excited to give it a go. The mascara is described as giving mega volume. It promises to create extremely dramatic lashes in one swipe. I adore voluminous lashes and love the added drama. To have these effects in one swipe is a dream to me, as I hate packing on copious layers of mascara which causes clumps. I adore a product that packs a good punch so that I can do my makeup application swiftly. My mornings are usually rushed, I therefore need a mascara I can rely on.

The packaging is spunky and so fun. From the vibrant shade of pink to the bold black lettering, it is a perfect design to match the mascara's purpose. Not only does it have a bold exterior but the brush design is even more unique and surprising. The wand has an Elastomer brush, which is a rubber head with short fine spikes. These types of brush heads pick up less product which eliminates clumping and product bleeding. The short spikes grip the base of the lashes well, giving a smooth and mess-free glide when applying the mascara to the lashes. Since the spikes are short, it is much easier to control the wand and effect of the application. Your lashes are coated from root to tip and separate well, giving a natural yet voluminous effect. The lashes do not look weighed down, and applying extra coats will not be problematic.

As you can see in the application, I applied two layers of mascara without double dipping back into the tube. The results are beautiful dramatic lashes with no clumping. I adore the volume this mascara gives me. The application is mess-free and there is no product bleeding. The brush is very comfortable to work with and grips the lashes well in one sweep. The formula is very black and has a creamy texture. It does not dry down immediately, giving you enough room to reapply and manipulate the lashes to your desired effect. The brush applicator works well for lower lashes too. It grasps smaller lashes aptly, giving it a thorough coat.

 The mascara lasts all day holding up the dramatic lift and volume. There is zero clumping and flaking in the formula throughout the day. The lashes are locked in place but not to the extent of being too hard and crisp. There is a comfortable balance in the firm hold but not stiff and dried out. This mascara is not waterproof and will run if you are immersed in water. I have not experienced my mascara running with random tears, so I cannot vouch for that. The mascara is removed easily with a face wash and micellar water. There is no need to rub and tug at the eyes. The I Love Extreme Crazy Volume Mascara is a reliable and user-friendly product.
