Makeup Revolution Sport Fix Extra Hold Makeup Fixing Spray Review

I returned from Qatar a few days ago and let me tell you it was a blazing hot trip. For those of you who don't know, Qatar is situated in the Middle East deep in the heart of a desert. They are currently experiencing spring but the weather felt like a super-hot South African Summer. The maximum temperature would reach 39 degrees Celsius and a low of 26 degrees Celsius. We were travelling to schools in the scorching heat, doing theatre shows. I was Red Riding Hood and I needed my makeup to look fresh and put together throughout the day. This of cause seemed like an impossible task as I was performing three shows a day and travelling on the hot roads. To rescue my face from literally melting off I decided to put my trust in the Makeup Revolution Sport Extra Hold Fixing Spray. Three words that caught my attention before purchasing this product is ''Sport Extra Hold''. When you hear these words the only thing that conjures up in my mind is waterproof and sweatproof resistant. That is exactly what I needed to keep me looking decent throughout my trip and not scare the little children, LOL.




The fixing spray comes in a black plastic and rose gold bottle with a spray pump. The packaging is quite sturdy and light which makes it great for travel. There is a 100ml of product which is a standard size when it comes to these types of products. The bottle is quite opaque and therefore you cannot see the amount of product which you have left. You have to judge by the weight and feel of the bottle to tell if you are running out of product. The spray pump is really good quality and disperses the mist evenly onto the face. There are no splotches or clumps of product on the skin when you spritz the nozzle. There is no strong or unpleasant scent in the liquid either, even though it does contain alcohol. It actually smells like nothing to me and someone with a stronger sensitivity to fragrance will not find it a bother at all. I like the overall design of the bottle, as it's travel friendly, easy to use, light and chic.





The extra hold makeup fixing spray promises to keep your makeup looking flawless through the toughest conditions such as extreme physical activity. It is meant to control oils, shine and prevent fading all day. It's designed to keep you matte and waterproof too. The spray disperses into a fine mist on your face. I like that it does not squirt big liquid drops as some setting sprays tend to do. It covers my face evenly with two to three pumps. The fixer goes on wet but dries fairly quickly. Do be careful to apply this only after your mascara has dried as it may cause smudges. I love that there is no unwanted white residue or white cast visible on the skin. Instead, it melts into my makeup and blends wonderfully. You will not be able to tell that I have an over lay spray on my face as it blends naturally into my complexion. It gives a matte appearance but my face does not look dry, cakey or tight. This spray actually feels the most comfortable on my face compared to other products I have used. I am very impressed at the performance of this fixing spray. It does an amazing job in keeping my makeup in place and keeping me matte in hot and sweaty conditions. My makeup did not run, fade or smudge in intense physical activity and heat. I love that it looks completely natural on the face. I don't think this will last for 24 hours though as at the end of the day my oils started to show through.


For the amount of product you get, the price and its performance, this is a great setting spray to have in your makeup kit. Both dry sensitive and combination to oily skin tones will be able to use this product. It does not leave a sheen, nor a powdery effect. It gives a soft matte finish that is breathable and comfortable to wear. You won't have to worry about your makeup looking crazy throughout the day. This is a great spray to use on a daily basis but if you want something more heavy duty and lasts for more than 24 hours then this will not be a good option for you. I personally love it and am already on my second bottle!
