Pamper Sunday: Ponds Age Miracle Skin Brightening Serum Mask Review

Hi Divas

When it comes to sheet masks, I am quite accustomed to the quality of what makes a great sheet mask. Ever since discovering Korean Cosmetics and using their sheet masks for years I have become a bit of a sheet mask snob. Sheet masks are designed to give your skin an extra boost of hydration and combat a skin concern such as hyper pigmentation, acne, dryness or oily skin. Sheet masks are super effective as they contain high dosages of ingredients that can easily be absorbed into your skin thus making it more effective than a cream. It is basically a concentrated essence or serum which left on the face for 20 minutes, can absorb a maximum amount of skin benefits. They are really great as they are travel friendly and can be used literally on the go. When I stumbled on the Ponds sheet masks, I was so surprised and delighted to see them. This is a huge step up for the brand as most cosmetic brands have seen the benefits of sheet masks and started developing their own too. The Korean skin care regime has really taken the Western world by storm and I am loving it. There are three variants in the range and I decided to purchase the Skin Brightening Serum Mask. What drew me in the most about these masks are the fact that they are made in Korea, which is wonderful, and they claim that 1 sheet equals 30 x the serum intensity. Imagine gaining 30 x a skin care benefit in one single sheet application. Yes please, sign me up!

As I stated above, I am well aware of what makes a high calibre sheet mask compared to a mediocre one and you may be thinking well what is it? Firstly, in any skin care product ingredients is the number one factor on that list. When it comes to the Ponds Brightening Mask, we see that the serum is packed with vital extracts such as Niacinamide, Vitamin E and Sea Daffodil. Niacinamide is truly the miracle ingredient in skin care today. Also known as Vitamin B3, this gem fights pigmentation scars, eliminates wrinkles and prevents future ones from forming and it naturally brightens the face. Vitamin E, helps to heal scars and is great for people with hyper pigmentation problems too. It helps to moisturise and soften the skin. Sea Daffodil repairs sun damage and prevents dark spots from developing on the skin. Again, if you suffer from pigmentation or scaring, this mask would be an excellent choice for you. Another factor in what makes a good sheet mask is the fibre of the mask and how well it holds moisture and does it effectively hydrate the skin. This mask has a soft cotton fibre which absorbs the essence really well. When you hold the mask in your hand, you can feel the product is heavy and drenched in serum, therefore the mask will not dry out easily on the face. The pink metallic packaging protects the mask well from outside factors such as heat and prevents the mask from oozing out if dropped or punctured.

The actual size of the cotton fibre fits the face nicely. I do not have to struggle and adjust to fit it over the eyes and mouth area. The fibre is quite soft and thin and you would have to be careful to not tear it when you are applying it on your face. It does fit comfortably though and I love that it does not move or slide down. It stays put and you can go about your day doing other things while wearing the mask. It says to leave the mask on for 15 minutes but I love to go the extra mile and wear it for 30 minutes. There is not much of a scent in the essence and it actually smells quite clinical to me. For those who have a sensitivity to fragrance, you definitely won't have a problem here. The serum is quite thick in consistency and I love that it does not run down my neck and creating a mess everywhere. The texture is gel like but not sticky at all. It absorbs easily into the skin and does not leave an unwanted residue or film. It blends well into my face when I add my cream on top of it.

I absolutely love the way this mask makes my skin feel. My face is visibly moisturised, soft to the touch and plump. I love to use the mask at night and I notice a big difference in the morning. I don't look dull, dragged down and dehydrated. It truly uplifts the overall look of my skin and my face seems more radiant. The mask claims to boost a glow from within and I truly see the effects of just that. The mask claims as well, that it holds 30 x the serum intensity in one application. The essence is definitely concentrated and it does seem to hold weight in one application. Although no skin concern can be solved overnight. By using these masks overtime, you will experience a significant difference in pigmentation problems. Using Niacinamide on a regular basis will help and improve your skin condition considerably. This is not a miracle product but it will aid in adding hydration and eliminating hyperpigmentation in the long run. Overall, I am very impressed with these masks and am going to purchase more. They are a great find and addition to my skin care routine. I totally recommend them!
