Happy Diva 2017

Hi Divas!

Hope you had a great start to 2017. I am back with a vengeance! Lol, no not really ;-) I took a lovely long break from the blog. I am feeling slightly rusty while writing this because it was a serious long blog vacation. I had an amazing Christmas and New Year. I spent some time with my sister before she flew off to Europe again. I explored my city, Cape Town by taking long Summer road trips. I also ate up a storm and enjoyed my mother's yummy cooking. I am still recovering from my holiday and trying to get my life back together again. Eeek! I'm going to share down below things that made me happy this festive season. Plus today is my BIRTHDAY! And I am actually happy to be a year older. God is good! ;-)

If you read my last post I shared all my favourite things for Christmas. I had another wonderful Christmas day filled with going to church, spending time with family and eating delicious food. Above is a photo of a homemade chocolate mousse tart that my mom and I made together. For New Year we had a lovely family braai and enjoyed laughing and spending time together. I swear most of my holiday festivities was spent eating food. Above is another photo of one of my favourite things: MILKSHAKES!

Wimpy knows how to decorate a milkshake to make me feel like a kid again. The flavour that I love the most from this popular eatery is strawberry. It's totally worth the extra calories, I promise. I truly enjoyed spending time with my sister. We would stay up till early hours of the morning talking and watching Netflix. We would have the most serious and deep conversations and suddenly change to the most ridiculous and crazy talks. We ate and watched movies till we were blue in the face. The picture of us above was taken by my mom on Christmas day.

Since my sister was in town we decided to go road tripping and explore places we have never been before and revisit ones from our childhood. The weather was lovely in Cape Town over the holidays but the wind packed a good punch some days, as most of you will know. Cape Town summer always has an amazing fun and happy vibe. People are out and about enjoying the fresh air and everyone is in a jolly mood. This time we decided to not go to the popular beaches but travel along the West Coast and find some hidden gems there.

We had a wonderful time at the West Coast National Park. It is truly a magical place filled with wildlife, hiking trails, beaches that look like paradise and more. There is a photo of a gorgeous lagoon that we swam in while there on the bottom right. This national park is huge and there is so much to do and see. It really is a great place to explore and get in touch with nature again. I might do a full post on it in the future. Along my other road trips we took a trip down memory lane and drove along the Cape Peninsula to admire the beautiful coastlines that Cape Town has to offer. We explored Clarence drive again which is a mountain pass road that offers the most scenic views that postcards are made of. See the photo above on the top left. You can even do shark and whale watching on this route while looking out for naughty baboons. ;-)

*I hope you are all having a lovely January. Feel free to share with me some of your favourite things you did this past holiday below. I off to go stuff my face with BIRTHDAY CAKE!*

Lots of love.
