Nars Lipstick in Shanghai Express (International Series)

This week I want to share another product from my lipstick junkie collection with you. This is my first Nars lipstick that I have ever owned. It was sent to me by a lovely friend from the U.S.A. There are 14 shades in this lipstick collection and I have the shade Shanghai Express which is a beautiful bold red lipstick. The lipstick packaging is similar to most Nars products as it comes in a sleek black casing with the Nars lettering written in white. I do have to say that this is one of the smallest lipsticks I own. It is much smaller than a MAC lipstick bullet. Although when I compare the two lipstick brands side by side you get the same amount of product in the tubes. Hence, the Nars lipstick is small and compact to fit into a clutch bag or purse. It actually looks really cute in my hand because it's smaller than a conventional lipstick but it packs a whole lot of punch.




Shanghai Express is a gorgeous warm brick red shade. It is perfect for a vamp look or can be worn on date night for a sultry makeup look. This lipstick shade is very sexy and you will garner some male attention when you wear it. The lipstick glides on the lips like velvet. It has a semi- matte finish and is quite opaque and gives full coverage. It would be best to line your lips with a similar colour lip liner first to prevent bleeding. The formula feels quite thick and might be difficult to apply and stay in the lines if you have thinner lips. This is a full coverage lipstick that is long wearing as well. Even after you drink and eat, your lips would still be stained with the bold brick red colour. I find that the formula is not drying or flakey at all on the lips. My lips still feel hydrated and soft after a long day. I think this lipstick is really beautiful and if you want a bold dark red lipstick then definitely consider this one. I would love to try other lipstick shades from Nars. Guess, I will have to book a trip to America for that! ;-)
