Clarins Hydra Quench Tinted Moisturizer Review

Hey Divas!

If you have heard of or tried the Clarins Hydra Quench range you will know that it is an excellent skincare range for dry skin. I have used the serums, face creams and masks from this range and I absolutely love it in winter time. I decided to give the tinted moisturiser a try since I love the other products so much. I do not have problem skin. The only time I get a blemish or two is when it's that time of the month (T.M.I, Lol). So, I do not need a lot of coverage on my face therefore I can get away with wearing a tinted moisturiser. It has been hot in Cape Town lately, so I prefer to wear BB creams and tinted moisturisers over foundations especially during the summer time. I hate wearing heavy foundations, that make me look and feel oily, sticky or cakey. I bought the Clarins Hydra Quench Tinted Moisturiser before Christmas, so I have been using it for almost a month now and can give a detailed review.

The Tinted Moisturizer promises to give you lasting hydration, radiance and a healthy glow. It contains hyaluronic acid and katafray bark extract that locks moisture into the skin. There are mineral and collecting pigments which are meant to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles whilst giving the skin a smooth and energized look to the face. The product comes in a generous 50ml tube. You only need to use a little amount each day so this tube can possibly last you up to 2 months or more. It comes in 6 shades with an SPF of 15. I am actually really disappointed in the low SPF that this product has. For hot summer days SPF15 will do nothing to protect your skin. Nevertheless I do wear this product over my SPF 30 moisturiser. The tinted moisturizer has a consistency of a light lotion and blends easily onto the face. I usually dot some on my forehead, cheeks and chin then blend with my fingers outwards on my nose and towards my neck.

As you can see in the photo above, my arm is a lot tanner than usual because of the summer holidays. The shade I am using is porcelain the lightest shade in the range but if you look at the photo, the colour of the tinted moisturiser is not porcelain at all. It looks more peachy in colour. When blended on my face the tint in the moisturiser adapts to my skin tone and gives a very natural look. The rest of the 5 colours in the range are much darker and more golden than the porcelain shade which would be perfect for deeper skin tones. I would say that if you are a natural beige complexion this shade would suite you and give you a summer kissed glow. If you are much lighter in colour then the porcelain shade might be too dark for you, unless you are looking for a natural tanning lotion effect on the face.

Pros:
- Adds radiance and a glow to the skin.
-Moisturises really well. Leaves skin hydrated without feeling oily.
-Blends great and does not rub off in hot weather.
-Great for all skin types.

Cons:
-Very low SPF.
-Not a good selection of shades.

I definitely notice a change in my appearance after I have applied this moisturizer in the morning. My face looks more energized and awake. There is a youthful and subtle glow on my skin. I have used this on my mom as well and it looks much more amazing on her than on me. It really brightened her face and made her look radiant and uplifted too. The moisturiser is very light and blends quickly and easily onto the face. It has a very pleasant scent that seems to be typical of most of the Hydra Quench products. This tinted moisturiser is great for every day wear. It is easy to apply and you don't have to worry about it sliding off your skin throughout the day. If you looking for a easy hassle free product with skin benefits and a little beauty enhancing tint then give this one a try.

Have a fabulous week beauties!
Xoxo
