Hi Divas!

Hope you all had an amazing weekend. This week on the blog I will be doing a fun beauty tag. Since my eyes are my favourite feature on my face I thought I would do a spot light post of it on the blog. Hope you enjoy it. P.S. I have a makeup giveaway on my Facebook page currently running. Tag Questions: 1. What eye cream/serum do you use?

I don't use eye creams or serums. I do love to use the Essence Cooling Eye Roll On ball. It contains cucumber extracts that soothes and moisturizes puffy eyes. I love to roll this under my eyes in the morning if they are feeling tired and looking puffy and red.
 

2. What is your favourite under eye concealer?

I love using the Essence Stay Natural concealer. I use it mainly to highlight as it is quite sheer but I love the natural finish it leaves on my face. You can read my full review on it here .
 

3. What is your favourite eye brow product?

I think you will notice a pattern here, but I really love using the Essence Eyebrow Stylist Set. It comes with two shades of brow shadow and stencils. You can read my full review on that product here.
 

4. What is your favourite eye shadow primer?

My absolute favourite would have to be the Urban Decay Primer Potion. This product is amazing and never creases your eyeshadow. A little product goes a long way too, so it is a great investment.
 

5. Your favourite shadow palette ( you must choose just one).

This is a very hard decision to make as I love all my eyeshadow palettes. If I have to choose only one it would have to be my Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette. This palette contains a variety of neutral eyeshadows that can be worn every day. You can also create many glam smokey eye looks for a night out. This is a beautiful and versatile palette.

6. Your favourite eye makeup remover.
 I love using Clarins Instant Eye Makeup remover. It is gentle on my eyes and removes the toughest black liner.

7. Your favourite mascara.

It would have to be the Lancome Hypnose Drama Mascara. I adore the formulae and the brush. It gives gorgeous dramatic lashes.
 

8. Your favourite eye liner (gel, kohl,felt tip).

To create a beautiful winged liner I love using the NYX Super Fat Marker black liner. I will do a full review on it soon. It gives me a beautiful precise line across my eyelids.

9. Your favourite single eyeshadow.

I don't use single eyeshadows. I love using palettes, so I would have to say the Essence quad eyeshadows would be my favourite. Read my full review on them here.
 

10. Your favourite sunglasses

So, I have a confession to make. I don't buy sunglasses any more. I used to spend lots of money on sunglasses and they would break in the most tragic ways. They would crush in my handbag; I would sit on them by accident or scratch them. Big sigh! So I found a solution to my problem. All the sunglasses I currently own are all free because I get them with magazine purchases. Whenever I see a fashion or beauty magazine giving away sunglasses free with the monthly magazine I would buy it. Needless to say I have four awesome pairs of sunglasses that I got for free. My favourite pair are the pink retro shaped sunglasses pictured above, which I got in a Glamour magazine. I even went overseas with this pair and got so many compliments. Score!:-)

Hello Beauties!

 

I thought I would do a manicure post this week. I absolutely love wearing nail polish and I actually feel quite naked if my nails are bare. I love painting my nails as it relaxes me and puts me in a good mood. I tend to do one manicure a week and alternate different nail colours and designs. I hardly ever blog about my weekly manicures so I thought I would do one big post every month about my diva creations. Now I am in no way a nail art expert or manicure guru. Most of the time I just experiment and freestyle in the hopes that my manicures will turn out good. I still have a lot to learn and need to improve my techniques drastically. I am getting there slowly. One thing I do need to invest in is a big nail art brush kit. I have a few brushes but not enough to create more dramatic looks. If you have any suggestions on where i can purchase more nail art brushes and accessories let me know below!

My top nail polish brands that I swear by are Tip Top and Sally Hansen. I tend to gravitate to these brands the most as they have excellent colour choices and top quality nail varnishes. Their polishes do not chip easily and are very versatile to work with when doing nail art. Sally Hansen has the best top and base coats. They keep my nails strong and my manicures last for ages. I really love them and haven't used any other top and base coats since I discovered hoe awesome Sally Hansen's ones are. I have also been using more nails Inc, Mavala and Revlon polishes. Some have been awesome and some quite disappointing. I will elaborate more about that below. I love to shop at R5 stores too as I get all my nail art stickers from there. Nail art stickers are always fun to use and brightens up any manicure.

First attempt using nail art brushes: 

While I was overseas I bought my first mini set of nail art brushes at H&M. They came in hot pink so I just had to purchase them. It came with a nail file, and three nail art brush tools. Below is my first attempt with the nail art brushes. I think it came out good. As I said I really need to practice and steady my shaky left hand. :-)

Lazy Saturday Makeup: 

F.O.T.D & O.O.T.D

Hi Divas!

Hope you had a stunning weekend. I thought I would do a post on what I love to wear on Saturdays. Saturdays are usually my lazy days. I love to sleep late, drink coffee all morning and just put on my sneakers and comfy leggings. I dress up and go all glam on Sundays but my Saturdays are usually my chill days. I will definitely do a look post on what I love to wear on Sundays too, so look out for that. Now Cape Town has been particularly chilly this past week therefore I have been wearing my winter coats and boots every day. I took the outfit photos below a while ago when the sun was still out and about in Cape Town.

Saturday F.O.T.D Makeup: 

Revlon Photoready Pressed Powder in Light/Medium 020: I never wear liquid foundation as I prefer to wear pressed powders because it works great for my combination skin. I have an oily t- zone, so pressed powder keeps my face matte throughout the day. The Revlon Pressed powder gives a natural sheer coverage which I love.

L'oreal Miss Manga Mascara: This is my favourite everyday mascara by far. This drug store product elongates my lashes and gives me a dramatic lash effect. The formula is quite wet and thick. So do be careful as lashes can get clumpy. I love this mascara because it makes my eyes look glamorous when I don't wear eyeshadow.

L'occitane Facecolor Cream Duo Blush in Rose Reverence: This is the only cream blush I own as I prefer to wear powder blushes. When I want a more natural rosy glow on my cheeks I opt for this pretty cream blush by L'occitane. It comes in two shades, a bright rosy pink and light peach colour. I use my fingers to blend in the blush. You can also use a stippling makeup brush. I love the natural flushed look it leaves on my cheeks.

Maybelline Babylips in Cherry Lips: These tinted Babylips products are perfect to wear on days when you don't want to look too over done. This shade gives a slight tint of cherry red colour on the lips. Again I love that it looks natural and rosy on my face.

Hello ladies!

Stila Lip glazes have been out for a really long time and I finally got to try them this past month. I have three colours in Persimmon, Melon and Cranberry. As most of you may know I love wearing bright lips so I was very excited to add these products to my makeup collection. The three I have comes in a set but you can purchase the lip glazes individually too. The glosses comes in an array of colours in a 1.5ml tube and promises to give a high shine glossy look on the lips.

The lip glazes are packaged in a pen like tube with a lip brush on top and a twist cap at the bottom. The pen is similar to a concealer pen as the bottom cap is twisted for the product to ooze out onto the brush. I love the way the lip glaze applies on my lips. The formula fills the brush and is easily brushed onto my lips. The application is not messy at all and the product glides smoothly and evenly. One coat would be sufficient but I like to pack the colour onto my lips so I add two thick coats as shown in the picture below. 

Stila Lip Glaze in Persimmon: A bright cherry red shade.

Stila Lip Glaze in Melon: A bright peachy coral shade.

Stila Lip Glaze in Cranberry: A warm reddish brown shade with a hint of berry.

These are great to wear on its own but I love to wear these over my lipsticks to intensify the colour and make my lips look more glossy and juicy. If you are not a fan of thick sticky glosses then you probably won't like this product. I know that some women have a love hate relationship with sticky glosses. I don't mind the sticky formula and I love the intense colour and shine on my lips. Have any of you lovely ladies tried these? Let me know below.
