Nails Inc Foil in Kings
Road: Hit or Miss?
Hope you ladies had a lovely weekend. Today I will be reviewing the Nails Inc nail polish Foil in Kings Road. I have had this nail colour since last year December. It came in a Christmas cracker set. The nail polishes were wrapped in pretty silver or black cracker wrapping with a famous celebrity or beauty quote inside. The quote which came with the Foil nail polish was from the legendary Dolly Parton which read: ''If you want the rainbow. You've got to put up with the rain.'' The packaging was really original and so fun for the festive season. I love that each Nails Inc polish is named after famous London roads. I would love to visit London one day, and wearing these nail polishes just makes feel like I am a little closer to my travelling dream.
Foil in Kings Road is a metallic silver colour that comes in a 10ml bottle. The polish is quite thick and very pigmented. The varnish coats the nails in colour with one sweep of the brush. I like the length and width of the brush as it covers the nail really well. Each nail is coated evenly. The texture of Kings Road is very unique. It feels like you are painting your nails in melted foil. Do you remember back in physics class in high school we would play with mercury in those testing bowls? Well that is exactly what Kings Road looks and feels like. Like you painting your nails in Mercury. After I painted my nails I felt like I should be in one of the Matrix movies as my nails looked very futuristic. I really loved the colour and texture of the polish. You do have to be careful though, as the polish dry's really quickly. So paint each nail swiftly as you do not want uneven varnish on each nail.
Hit or a Miss?
I have to say that it is a MISS for me. Even though I really love the colour and texture of this nail polish there was one thing that really bothered me. This nail polish would not last for more than 12 hours without chipping. I have used this polish three times with a very strong base coat and top coat. In each of those three times the nail polish chipped after 12 hours. It actually never lasted a day without chipping. Now I don't know about you, but I can't stand paying money for nail polish that chip all over the place. It really drives me up the wall. Nails Inc polishes do not come cheap. So with a strong top coat I do expect this nail polish to last at least two days. I can't be paying for expensive polish and it doesn't even last for 24 hours. Big miss for me.
I have used the other nail polishes in the set and have experienced much better results. I will do reviews on those soon. If you are looking for a great metallic silver colour this is it but do beware that it chips really easily. Have any of you ladies used this nail polish? Let me know your thoughts below.

Its a bummer that it chips so easily though, especially since its not a cheap polish.
ReplyDeleteTotal bummer, Lynette!
DeleteLove the color but its really sad that it chips so easily.I recently got an Essence color(hellomarshmallow)and exoerienced the same problem:(
ReplyDeleteI have heard that some people have problems with the Essence nail polishes. I love this colour too. Guess the hunt continues:-)
DeleteI stayed in Kings Road when I was in London :) Also, I like the look of the foil colour but I've had that problem before with foil nailpolishes where they don't last very long - although 12 hours is ridic :( Nice review babe x
ReplyDeleteThat's so cool Natalie!!! ;-))) Had no idea that the foil polishes give problems.
DeleteThanks for the review, Diva Desle. It's a nice colour, too bad it chips so easily. :-)
ReplyDeletePleasure Saundy! Thanks for reading. Xxx
DeleteHi dear, I love the metallic colour and effect but such a pity it didn't last well. May your week be filled with calm & creativity.
ReplyDeleteThank you Sam. Mwha XXXX

Hahaha, totalmiss indeed! Thanks Kim:-)
DeleteGreat post. It would totally annoy me if I had that polish because when you pay that price you expect superior quality. By the sounds of things Tip Top - Armour plate is a much better silver foil for a quarter / third of the price.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for the tip Michelle. Xxx
DeleteThank you for your comment:-)
