Simon’s Town
The last time I was in Simon's Town I was in a bunny outfit handing out Easter eggs. I've done stranger things for money. Believe me! This time I went with the intent to be a tourist in my own city. I have always been in love with this part of the Cape Town coast. The scenic drive to Simon's Town is one of my favourites. I love the arty and relaxed vibe of Kalk bay and Fishhoek. Just further on and you in beautiful Simon's Town.
This relaxed and picturesque town is home to the famous Naval and Simon's Town Museum. Visit them both to see the fascinating history of this pretty town. I especially love walking down the main road and viewing the old Victorian architecture. Enjoy the little waterfront for it's delicious sea food meals and summer holiday views. You can also take the scenic walk up Rectory lane right up to Thomas street and see the whole city view from there.
Buildings in the main street, views from the waterfront harbour and Boulders beach with Penguins. |
If you don't have a car, no stress. Take the train and enjoy the sea
breeze flowing through your hair! Just further up Simon's Town is
Boulders beach where you will see the cutest, most confident photogenic
penguins you will ever see. So cute!
