MARKET ON THE WHARF
Saturday, December 08, 2012
Ladies and gents there is a new market in town! Behold
Market on the Wharf in the prestigious V&A Waterfront. Situated in the old
power station building where the Musica store used to be, this market is
filled with stalls selling fresh foods and culinary treats with a festive and
vibey atmosphere.
This market is a must to visit this holidays in Cape Town. There are so many great stalls to visit and purchase fresh and organic produce. There is also a sit down place upstairs where you can try out local cuisine such as Cape Malay food or enjoy some fresh oysters and sushi.
Some of the stalls at the market include: Bakery treats; Assorted cheeses; Flower stall (see my beautiful sister standing amongst the flowers:-) ; Fresh vegetables; Chocolate; Nuts and Assorted preserves.
Open from Wednesdays to Sundays 09:30-19:30.
My favourite stall out of them all
was the chocolate store. My sister and I couldn't get enough of the delicious
chocolate macaroons and chocolate balls filled with cream and nuts. My mouth is watering just thinking about it!
So don't forget to visit this lovely market when you visit the V&A Waterfront this festive season.
On a a side note....
Spent the most amazing day with my sister doing Christmas shopping , enjoying the V&A Waterfront festivities and of course indulging in delicious calorie filled cherry chocolate milkshakes:-)

A really lovely place to be. I like the goods and produce that is sold there. The chocolatier is definitely a must-see and a must-try. I also liked the tea stall and the flower stall very much. I would definitely want to visit the Market on the Wharf again. :-)
