DERMALOGICA MICRO ZONE TREATMENT REVIEW

I had the luxury of receiving a Micro Zone facial at the Dermalogica concept store in Wembley Square, Gardens in Cape Town. I have never been for a facial or any spa treatment before so I was pretty nervous and excited. I told myself ‘’As long as my skin doesn’t peel off my face I’ll be fine!’’

The setting of the concept store is a chic and comfortable space consisting of warm light and trendy chairs and lamp shades. Upon walking in I was greeted by a warm and welcoming hello. The consultant who was doing my facial looked really happy to see me and she made me feel relaxed and welcomed. We sat down for a brief consultation where I filled out a form regarding skin type and skin concerns. Dermalogica has a unique face mapping skin analysis system in which they divide your face into 12 zones and treat each zone accordingly. So your facial is customised to your specific skin type and needs. Your skin mapping is captured on to their data base and you can take your skin mapping sheet home for reference on which

Dermalogica products to purchase and use. I really liked this personal touch.

We then proceeded to the treatment area. All products used are from the Dermalogica range. It is a great skin care brand, consisting of a wide range of products targeted at specific needs. It is all natural, containing no artificial fragrances or colourants. It is very gentle and safe on the skin. The facial starts with a deep cleanse to remove surface and inner pore dirt. Accompanying this is a lovely lemon scented steaming of the face to open up the pores and relax the senses. The skin is then massaged and lightly exfoliated to remove dead skin cells. A deep moisturising masque is applied to replenish and rehydrate the skin. A nifty computer gadget is used to lock moisture into the skin. A skin hydrating booster and Hydra mist is sprayed on the face according to how much hydration the skin needs. To end off, a moisturiser and SPF cream is applied.

The Micro Zone treatment is a wonderful facial that replenishes moisture and targets problem areas. It leaves your skin glowing and radiant all day long. A few days later my skin has still maintained a healthy glow and feels wonderfully moisturised. I love this concept store and recommend it to anyone who is looking for an affordable but great facial. They also offer an array of other skin care treatments and you can even have Pamper parties there with your girlfriends. The Micro Zone treatment only costs R240 and the consultation is free. Plus I received free samples of the Dermalogica range! It is a definite thumbs up for me.
